One Month Off, Any Keepers?
One Month Off: How many keepers can you expect?
What Happened?
I had big plans for the second half of October and even bigger ones for November. However, life happens. One illness after another hit my family during this time. It was nothing serious, just bad luck.
How did things go on my first day out in over a month? Take a look at the contact sheets below to find out.
How I shot after a month off:
I went into the day with low expectations and a plan. It was sunny and I planned to photograph commuters shadows near Kawaguchi station. The large pedestrian causeway and high foot traffic in the area provided ample opportunities for success.
After an extended break from shooting getting a keeper early on is key. This gave me a confidence boost. One that carried me through the rest of the day. A day that yielded both color and black and white shots worthy of being printed.
How many keepers? That is always subjective, but on this day the number is 3. Any day that yeilds one keeper is a good day. More than that is a great day. The goal is always to have a good day, and that should provide some great days too.
Where is this?
All of these are shots are taken within a block of Kawaguchi Station on the JR East Keihintohoku Line. A brilliant non-gentrified area just one stop away from Tokyo.
